Year 4
Welcome to our Year 4 webpage. Our class teachers are Miss Bedding, Miss Bell and Miss Munro. In addition to this, we have the following teaching assistants Mrs Warwick, Mrs Arthur, Mrs Fostekew and Mrs Taylor.
Each morning, we have an English and a Maths lesson. Over the year, we study a variety of genres. These include 'The Wild Robot' by Peter Brown, 'The Butterfly Lion' by Michael Morpurgo and 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe' by C.S Lewis.
Tuesday afternoons are very busy in Year 4 as we have our music lessons. We are so excited because we are all learning to become 'Rock Stars'. By the end of Year 4, we will be able to hold our own rock concert as we are learning to play the drums, keyboard, bass or electric guitar.
In Geography this year, we will be studying Australia, South Africa and Italy. In History, we are looking forward to learning about Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome.
In Year 4, we will be sitting the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) in June 2025. The MTC is a statutory key stage two assessment, which tests Year 4 pupils' knowledge of the multiplication tables within 12 × 12. More information surrounding this will be given to parents closer to the time.
At 8:15 on Wednesday mornings, we will be opening the door to the classrooms to give children some extra time to practise their times tables. They will be using Times Table Rock Stars to support them with this.
Please visit our subject pages to see the curriculum for each area of the curriculum.
